HOME / PROLOZONE THERAPY
For those with chronic pain, Prolozone Therapy may be the answer.
It is an alkaline, glucose, nutrient, and oxygen injection technique that helps the body heal injuries and recover from persistent pain.
Prolozone Therapy at VCIM
Prolozone
Prolozone is an injection technique developed and pioneered by Dr. Frank Shallenberger, MD. It is excellent for all forms of musculoskeletal and joint pain, including chronic neck and back pain, rotator cuff injuries, degenerative and arthritic hips and knees, degenerated discs, and shoulder and elbow pain.
The reason that some injuries heal and others persist with chronic pain is circulation. Healing can only occur when the injured area is provided with adequate vitamins, minerals, and oxygen via proper blood flow. Oxygen is by far the most important of these.

To begin Prolozone Therapy at our clinic:
Book a Naturopathic Intake Appointment
All our patients begin with an initial naturopathic intake appointment. This appointment allows us to assess your issue and determine the best course of treatment for you. You will be seen by an ND and MD to complete your assessment and plan for treatment. Prolozone therapy at VCIM is managed by our physicians. Inflammation and pain often have deeper systemic contributing factors as well as physical ones. A care plan that addresses both will achieve the best results.
Book a Prolozone Intake Appointment
If your concern is strictly physical (an injury, strain, or sprain), then you’ll need to book a Prolozone intake with a Naturopathic Doctor. During this, all appropriate information will be gathered and a diagnosis made.
Follow up with our Internal Medicine Specialist
Once this is determined, you’ll need to see our Internal Medicine Specialist. During this short appointment, they will assess need and risk and will ultimately sign off on the treatment, allowing us to proceed with your care.
Start Prolozone Therapy
After these two appointments are complete, you can book your first Prolozone Therapy appointment with us. You will be seen by Dr. Grime, who is certified, for your therapy. Treatment frequency is generally 1 treatment weekly for 1-6 treatments. While it varies from person to person, most patients find relief after 3-5 Prolozone treatments.
We love this treatment because:
It’s less painful than other types of shots
Cortisone shots cannot be given repeatedly without the potential risk of harm
It’s a lower-cost alternative to PRP with similar results
We love the results!
