Ozone Therapy at VCIM

Oxygen is our body’s most critical nutrient. Ozone Therapy is an incredibly powerful, safe, and endlessly useful tool to help support the body’s mechanisms for self healing and repair.

Ozone Therapy

All activities performed by our bodies require oxygen. As we age or experience disease, our bodies’ ability to utilize oxygen (via the mitochondria in our cells) decreases. This decrease leads to excessive free radical production that contributes to aging and can result in cellular breakdown, organ inefficiency, and degenerative disease.

Ozone therapy is an oxidative therapy used to treat pain, infections, and regulate the immune system. Ozone helps to increase oxygenation in the blood and can also help with energy levels and tissue healing.

How it Works

Aging and the diseases of aging are caused primarily by decreased efficiency in cellular respiration and, thus, energy production. Ozone therapies involve the utilization of ozone to increase oxygenation of the tissue. When ozone comes into contact with tissue, it immediately converts to oxygen, increasing cellular respiration and energy production.

Ozone Therapy Applications

Because ozone is a form of oxygen therapy, and oxygen is the most basic of all cellular needs, ozone therapies can be applied to support a wide variety of ailments. Such as:

  • Dental ostitis

  • Sinus infections

  • Allergies/Dermatitis

  • Auto-Immune Disease

  • Preconditioning, athletic performance, and recovery

  • Cancer

  • Infections of all kinds

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Inflammatory conditions such as bursitis, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, and carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Coronary and cardiovascular disease

  • Gangrene

  • Macular Degeneration

  • Aging

  • Chronic Pain

  • Chronic Fatigue

  • Acute Infections

  • Chronic infections

  • Cutaneous fungi

  • Interstitial cystitis

  • Back pain

  • Non-healing wounds

  • Limb salvage

  • Nerve injury

  • Osteonecrosis of the jaw

  • Ephysema

  • Healing post-surgery

  • Ulcerative colitis

  • And more…

In general, around the world, how are treatments applied?

IV Major Autohemotherapy (MAH)

The patient is connected to an IV bag with 100cc of saline. The bag is dropped to floor level, and 100cc of blood from the patient is collected by gravity. The bag is then hung up, and 100cc of ozone is added and allowed to mix for 5 minutes to achieve oxygenation.

The line is then opened, and the patient’s oxygenated blood and saline mix are infused into the patient. It is a fully closed system. The process takes about an hour.

IV Ozonated Saline

250cc of saline is bubbled for about 12 minutes with ozone and then infused.

10 Pass Ozone Therapy

The automated process of drawing 220cc of blood, ozonating it, and infusing it back into the body in a closed-loop system. This process is completed most commonly up to 10 x over an hour.  Each cycle is called a “pass”.  This allows for over half of the blood supply to be treated, allowing for approximately a treatment that is approximately 40x stronger than MAH.

Minor Autohemotherapy

10cc of ozone is mixed with 5cc patient’s blood which is then injected into a muscle. Good for energy, colds and flus, immune boosting.

Prolozone

A combination of vitamins, homeopathics, procaine, and dextrose, followed by ozone, is injected into a joint or subcutaneously into trigger points, or areas of injury or arthritis, pain.

Chezone

A combination of the IV ozone method followed by chelation therapy for cardiovascular disease.

Rectal Insufflation

Up to 400cc of ozone is introduced to the rectum, where it is absorbed systemically. It involved using a very narrow rectal catheter, inserted about 3 inches, connected to an insufflation bag that is rolled up slowly to displace the ozone into the rectum. This process takes less than 20 minutes.

Vaginal Insufflation

Similar to rectal insufflation, the patient inserts the vaginal speculum themselves. For local infection, endometriosis, PID, etc.

*Insufflation can also be done in the sinuses and ears for local relief of infections and colds.

Note: The process of accessing ozone therapy in our clinic requires consultation with both an ND and MD. Ozone therapies are performed under the supervision of an MD.

Ozone has been researched and used in medical therapy around the world for decades.

In areas of the world such as Russia, Europe (both eastern and western), Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, and Indonesia, Ozone Therapy has been widely researched and applied. Hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific publications demonstrate the effectiveness of ozone in treating many different conditions, including cancer, autoimmune disease, inflammatory conditions, cardiovascular disease, endocrine disease, chronic pain, and acute and chronic infections.

Ozone therapies are also exceedingly effective and safe, with few side effects reported.
