IV Therapy Toronto: Personalized Nutrient Therapy at VCIM
IV nutrient therapy is one of the most effective ways to deliver therapeutic doses of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids directly to your cells. By bypassing the digestive system entirely, IV infusions achieve blood nutrient concentrations that oral supplements simply cannot match.
At the Village Centre for Integrative Medicine in Toronto, IV therapy is not a one-size-fits-all service. Every formulation is tailored by a licensed naturopathic doctor after a thorough health assessment — because what your body needs is unique to you. We've been providing medically supervised IV nutrient therapy for years, and our patients consistently report meaningful improvements in energy, immune resilience, and recovery.
What Is IV Nutrient Therapy?
IV nutrient therapy is a medical procedure that delivers a customized blend of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and amino acids directly into the bloodstream through a small intravenous catheter. The key advantage is bioavailability - instant cellular utilization, and the ability to achieve therapeutic dose ranges that are otherwise not possible:
This matters because many people have knowingly or unknowingly, have compromised nutrient absorption. As well, we are treating illness and health issues, to reach much higher serum concentrations, to effectively address the issue. IV therapy is a powerful and safe tool for healing and repair, that cannot be replicated with another method of nutrient delivery.
THE VCIM DIFFERENCE
Why Choose Naturopathic IV Therapy in Toronto?
The main difference between a naturopathic IV clinic and a drip bar is clinical depth. At VCIM, IV therapy is part of an integrated treatment plan — not a standalone wellness service. Our approach includes three key elements that set us apart:
Before recommending IV therapy, we conduct a full naturopathic intake. We want to understand why you're depleted, fatigued, or unwell — not just mask symptoms with nutrients. We may request bloodwork to test for specific vitamin deficiencies, ensuring your IV protocol targets exactly what your body needs.
Unlike standardized drip menus, VCIM formulations are customized for each patient. Our base formulas serve as starting points, then are adjusted based on your lab results, health history, and treatment response. This personalized approach typically delivers better outcomes than generic formulas.
All IV treatments at VCIM are prescribed and overseen and administered by naturopathic doctors and medical doctors with advanced training in intravenous nutrient therapies. Dr. Tammy Grime, BSc, ND, our Clinic Director, brings two decades of clinical experience in integrative medicine, environmental medicine, and IV therapy. She completed her premedical training in Biomedical Science at the University of Guelph and her naturopathic doctorate at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.
17+ FORMULATIONS · 9 CATEGORIES
IV Therapy Formulations Available at VCIM
VCIM offers 17+ IV formulations spanning energy recovery, immune support, stress and mood, detoxification, brain health, digestive support, cardiovascular health, surgical recovery, and oncology — each customized to your individual needs by a naturopathic doctor.
Our formulations are generally individualized for each patient. The formulas below represent our base formulations, which are then tailored to individual needs and tolerance. Some of our treatments are managed by our physician and will require an additional appointment to access care.
Energy, Fatigue, Infection and Athletic Performance
-
Our Adrenal and Energy Repair IV is designed for patients dealing with energy recovery, burnout, hangover, chronic fatigue, mono, adrenal fatigue, weekend-warrior fatigue, stress, mitochondrial energy recovery, and immune support.
-
Our Athlete Performance IV builds on this foundation with the addition of glutathione, ozone, carnitine, and glutamine — supporting athletes with increased nutrient demands beyond what diet alone can provide.
-
For more targeted cellular energy support, NAD+ IV therapy supports energy production, addiction recovery, Parkinson's, dementia, neurological issues, brain fog, concussion, and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Learn more about NAD+ IV therapy in Toronto →
Immune Support and Infection Fighting
-
High-dose vitamin C IV therapy is one of our most clinically supported treatments for immune function. Research from the National Cancer Institute confirms that IV vitamin C achieves blood concentrations 100–500 times higher than oral doses, which can support immune activity, shorten illness duration, and aid recovery from stubborn infections.
-
Our Infection Recovery IV incorporates high-dose C, HCl push, zinc, and selenium for patients dealing with stubborn infections, pneumonia, cellulitis, chronic UTIs, Herpes Simplex, EBV, and mono.
Stress, Mood & Sleep
-
Our Calm The Stress IV helps to acutely calm down, gently nourish, and energize, incorporating B vitamins, vitamin C, magnesium, calcium, glycine, taurine, carnitine, and amino acids.
-
The Mood Minder IV supports patients dealing with depression recovery, anxiety, adrenal fatigue, nervous exhaustion, and sleep challenges.
Detoxification and Cellular Health
-
Glutathione IV supports detoxification, neuroinflammation, liver inflammation, cellular recovery, and brain recovery from stroke and TBI.
-
Our heavy metal detox IV targets accumulation of lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, thallium, platinum, and other environmental toxins.
-
Brain Health and Cognitive Support
-
Our Brain Boost IV is formulated for patients experiencing brain fog, TBI, concussion, stroke, dementia, mental burnout, and those needing immune and energy support. This formulation combines targeted nutrients, glutathione, amino acids, and ozone to support neurological repair and cognitive function.
-
NAD+ IV therapy is also a key treatment in this category — research published in Cell Metabolism suggests NAD+ has neuroprotective properties and may help reduce neurodegeneration associated with conditions like Parkinson's and dementia.
Digestive and Absorption Support
-
Our Full Nutrient Repletion IV is designed for patients with restricted eating, malabsorption, nutrient deficiency, SIBO, IBD, IBS, GI repair, Celiac disease, and cognitive function concerns. This formulation includes all vitamins, minerals, vitamin C, and amino acids — delivering comprehensive nutrition directly into the bloodstream for patients whose digestive systems cannot adequately absorb oral supplements. For many patients with chronic GI conditions, IV nutrient repletion provides a bridge to recovery that oral supplementation alone cannot achieve.
Cardiovascular Support
-
The Healthy Heart IV supports recovery from heart attack, weak heart, arrhythmia, and other cardiovascular conditions. This formulation includes targeted nutrients, B vitamins, glycine, taurine, carnitine, and CoQ10 — compounds with well-documented roles in cardiac energy metabolism and vascular function. This IV is particularly relevant for patients whose cardiovascular concerns intersect with nutrient depletion or medication-induced deficiencies.
-
IV phosphatidyl choline supports vascular health, cell membrane repair, and lipid transport.
Surgery, Recovery, and Pregnancy Support
-
Our Pre/Post Surgery Recovery IV helps strengthen resilience before surgery and speed healing and recovery afterward.
-
The Dental Recovery IV supports gum and jaw recovery from dental surgery with a powerful dose of vitamin C, zinc, selenium, proline, amino acids, B vitamins, and homeopathics.
-
The Radiation Recovery IV supports patients undergoing cancer treatment, incorporating 30g of vitamin C, zinc and selenium (to recycle vitamin C), all the B vitamins, and a 2000mg glutathione push.
-
Our Pregnancy Support IV provides gentle support for energy depletion and nausea during pregnancy and recovery afterward, with hydration, B vitamins, minerals, vitamin C, and B6.
Oncology Support
-
Up to 100g.
-
Oncology Therapy.
-
Antioxidant support in oncology protocols.
-
Inhibits tumor proliferation, promotes apoptosis, and reduces inflammatory tumor microenvironment
-
A wormwood extract that enhances oxidative stress in cancer cells and is used as a pre-treatment before high-dose vitamin C
-
Along with the above IVs, VCIM offers specialized protocols for radiation repair, neuropathy repair support, immune and cold/flu recovery, and brain and surgical recovery in oncology patients. A 2024 phase II clinical trial published in Redox Biology found that high-dose IV vitamin C combined with chemotherapy doubled overall survival time in patients with metastatic pancreatic cancer compared to chemotherapy alone. Our oncology IV protocols are managed by our physician and require an additional appointment to access care.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
What to Expect: Your First IV Therapy Session
During your initial intake, your naturopathic doctor will review your health history, current concerns, medications, and goals. We take time to understand the root cause of your symptoms.
We may request bloodwork to identify specific nutrient deficiencies, assess organ function, and rule out contraindications. For high-dose vitamin C protocols, a G6PD enzyme test is required before your first infusion.
Based on your assessment, your ND creates a personalized IV formulation and recommends a treatment frequency. This is not a one-and-done approach — your protocol evolves as you respond to treatment.
Sessions typically last 30–90 minutes depending on the formulation. You can relax, read, or work during your treatment. Our clinical team monitors you throughout.
We track your progress and adjust formulations based on follow-up labs and how you're feeling. Most patients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions, then transition to monthly maintenance.
Your IV therapy journey at VCIM begins with a comprehensive naturopathic intake — not just a consent form and a drip bag. Here is what the process looks like:
INSURANCE & PRICING
IV Therapy Cost in Toronto
IV therapy pricing in Toronto typically ranges from $190 to $400+ per session, depending on the formulation, dosage, and clinical setting. Specialized treatments like NAD+ and high-dose vitamin C tend to fall at the higher end due to ingredient costs and longer infusion times.
At VCIM, pricing reflects the clinical depth of our approach — you are receiving an individualized formulation prescribed by a naturopathic doctor, not a fixed menu drip. Many extended health insurance plans cover naturopathic IV therapy under naturopathic medicine benefits. We recommend checking with your insurer for specific coverage details.

FAQ
Common questions about IV Therapy
-
IV therapy is considered safe when administered by licensed healthcare professionals using sterile techniques and medical-grade ingredients. Side effects are typically minor — temporary bruising at the injection site, mild flushing, or brief lightheadedness. Serious complications do not occur when proper medical screening and protocols are followed.
-
A standard IV therapy session at VCIM takes approximately 30–90 minutes, depending on the formulation. High-dose protocols like NAD+ may take 2–4 hours. Your naturopathic doctor will advise on expected duration at booking.
-
Treatment frequency depends on your health goals. For acute concerns or therapeutic protocols, weekly sessions for 4–8 weeks are common. For general wellness and maintenance, monthly sessions are typical. Your ND will create a personalized schedule based on your needs, lab results, and treatment response.
-
At VCIM, we may request bloodwork during your initial intake to test for vitamin deficiencies and rule out contraindications. A G6PD test is required before any high-dose vitamin C infusion. This diagnostic approach ensures your IV formulation is safe and precisely targeted to your needs.
-
Medical clinics like VCIM offer personalized formulations based on your health history and lab work, supervised by licensed naturopathic doctors. Drip bars typically offer standardized menus with limited customization and may not require a health assessment. The clinical approach provides individualized care, proper medical oversight, and formulations adjusted to your specific deficiencies and goals.
-
IV therapy is not covered by OHIP. However, many extended health insurance plans cover naturopathic services, which may include the administration fee and consultation for IV therapy. Coverage varies by provider and plan — contact your insurer to confirm your specific benefits.
-
Yes. If you have an ND or MD who is certified in IV therapies and able to prescribe, VCIM may be able to administer your treatment by referral. If your existing provider is not IV-certified, we can do a simplified intake for IV therapies only.
-
The IV catheter insertion typically causes brief discomfort similar to a small pinch. After placement, most patients feel comfortable and can relax during the infusion. If you have any concerns about needle sensitivity, let our clinical team know — we are experienced at making the process as comfortable as possible.
-
IV therapy is not appropriate for everyone. Certain conditions — including kidney disease, heart failure, and some blood disorders — may require modified protocols or make IV therapy inadvisable. High-dose vitamin C is contraindicated in patients with G6PD deficiency, which is why we test for this enzyme before treatment. Pregnancy, active infections at the IV site, and certain medication interactions also require careful evaluation. This is exactly why VCIM requires a full naturopathic intake before any IV treatment: we need to ensure the therapy is safe and appropriate for your individual health profile.
Book Your IV Therapy Consultation
